Now offering adventures in art at summer camp!

This summer, at my brand-new studio, I am offering four week-long, full-day camps for children ages 8-14 that emphasize creativity and exploration in a variety of art media.

We will start our days with drawing exercises and continue with art instruction.  Afternoons will be more laid-back with mixed media projects and free creation time. Also we will have time outside in a large backyard next to Duke Forest that is filled with fun kid ameneties including a zipline, treehouse, trampoline (netted, of course), swings and hammocks.  On Friday afternoons, at the close of each camp, we will have an art show to exhibit all of the amazing artwork.  Class sizes will be limited to approximately 10 children per camp.

Camp fees: $250/week 8:30-3:30; additional $75/week for 3:30-5:30 extended day

Please complete the Summer 2012 Registration Form with deposit in order to reserve your child's place at camp.

July 9-13: Art and Nature
Campers will investigate drawing from life, drawing and painting landscapes, tree and leaf textures, painting with sticks, and making mobiles from natural objects.  Four  spaces still available.

July 16-20: All Things Paper
You can do so many things with paper! We will make paper from scratch, marbleize paper, and explore a variety of techniques like collage, print making and paper mache.   Five spaces left.

July 30-Aug 3: Art Around the World
Each day we will explore the artwork of a different country and culture, including sumi brush painting and mask making.   Five spaces open.

Aug 6-10: Express Yourself!
Art is all about expression.  Campers will delve into abstract drawing and painting emphasizing elements of color theory and composition, illustrate a favorite poem, paint to music, and make imaginary animals out of mixed media.   Four spaces available.
